Once again this year winter brought the usual additional risks to health. During the Affordable Warmth workshop held at the Age Concern Home Services Conference it seemed there was a need for further information on fuel economy and general advice to try to ease the burden of winter.

We came up with the idea of a Winter Warmth Week (www). We have collated all the information we could to enable the group organisers to work with their members to highlight handy tips and energy saving advice.

Report: Social Enterprise Event
On 28th November 2006, Adults Social Services organised an event involving over 40 voluntary & community sector groups to discuss 'social enterprise' for social care in the Bradford District.  Tim Sanders from Adults Social Services has prepared a report of the event which brings out the key messages and questions from the event, and includes information about actions taken since then, and future plans.  It was a well-received and lively event.

Age Concern and other local voluntary sector groups led on planning the follow-up event on July 13th 2007. A report will be available soon..

Report: Worklessness in the 50+ Age Group
An April 07 research report to establish quantitative and qualitative data on worklessness of people aged 50+, the use of employment and enterprise releated service by people aged 50+ and the views of 50+ service users. Compiled on behalf of the Bradford 50+ Employment and Enterprise Working Group. (Please note that this is a 100 page document. The executive summary is also available for download.)
